It’s All In The Title
It’s All In The Title - You only have one chance to make a
good impression. And you have one chance to capture someone’s
attention.
Which is why the majority of advertisement’s fail. Pull out
and open a magazine or trade publication in which you advertise.
Do all of the ads look the same? Which one’s motivate you more
than others?
The ads that pull people in start with a dynamic title. They
use a question or statement to pull people in. Then proceed
by providing information to answer the question, or support
the statement. They motivate people to want to make contact
with the company being advertised!
Having a good title can mean the difference between having
your ad read, and having your ad passed by. And since the more
people that read your ad, the more contacts you will make,
and ultimately the more profit you will make, it pays to improve
your titles.
Here are some tips on how you can improve your titles:
Make your titles powerful. Make them connect directly with
your audience. Consider titles like:
The fire took it all; even my most cherished portraits.
When my baby graduated from high school, I was grateful for
my photo album.
Follow up your titles with subtitles. Make people continue
to read further.
I could replace most of my things, but what about my photographs?
It’s amazing how much he’s changed year after year – it all
seems like yesterday.
Then go in to the details. Explain your offer, and why you
can help your customer. You’ve captured attention. Now it’s
time to provide the information. The longer a person reads
your information, the better chance of making contact with
them. Because you develop a relationship with a person quickly,
make your information count with every word.
If you can’t write motivating copy, hire it done. One of the
biggest reasons small businesses fail is they attempt all of
the marketing and sales themselves. If you’re unsure of the
power of your marketing materials, check with a professional.
It’s easier to spend a few hundred dollars in order to profit
a few thousand, then to do it yourself and spend hundreds making
nothing.
